ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former Prime Minister Imran Khan has rejected the budget presented by the federal government.

According to a local TV, in a statement released on the social networking site Twitter, he said that the people and businesses of the government reject the enemy budget.

Imran Khan said that the federal budget presented by the government is based on the assumptions of inflation and economic growth.

The former prime minister said that the Sensitive Prices Index has reached 24 per cent today while it is clear from the statistics that the inflation rate will be 25 to 30 per cent. Rising interest rates will stop economic growth.

Chairman PTI said that inflation will destroy the common man, revolutionary tax reforms made in our era are being stopped.

Imran Khan said that poor friendly measures like health card and successful Pakistan are being scrapped, the unimaginable budget of old Pakistan will put more burden on the nation.

Earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan said the data of the survey attested to PTI’s claims of a thriving economy.

In a televised address, Imran Khan said the economic survey endorsed the performance of the PTI government.

He said the country was on a path of progress during the last two years which is backed by the figures in the survey.

He said the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth was nearly 6% during the last couple of years and growth in different sectors was also evident. Further, he said that the tax revenue rose to Rs6 trillion while the exports surged to$32 billion.

PTI chairman said the remittances reached $31 billion which was a testament to the overseas Pakistanis in the PTI government.

Responding to debt rhetoric of opponents, he said PML-N left the GDP to debt ratio at 64% and PTI maintained it despite paying interest double than it was during PML-N’s government.

He said Pakistan outshone other countries in the subcontinent in employment opportunities despite the Covid-19 pandemic.
