MOSCOW: An attempt to insult Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) is not an expression of freedom, says Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The Russian president made these remarks during his annual press conference here.
Putin said that attempts to insult to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) were a clear violation of the sacred feelings of Muslims.

He also strongly criticised the publication of blasphemous sketches of the Holy Prophet PBUH in Charlie Hebdo, a French magazine.
The Russian president said that such acts cause rise to extremist reprisals.
