PIA resumes booking for Saudi Arabia

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan International Airlines has resumed reservation for the Saudi Arabia-bound flights after months of suspension in the wake of coronavirus pandemic.

A spokesman for the PIA said that the residence card (Iqama) and visit visa holders may travel to the kingdom if they tested negative for the Covid-19 48 hours prior to their flights.

He added that initially 23 flights will operate every week.

Earlier on Sept 15, Saudi Arabia had partially eased restrictions on the international flights.

The interior ministry had said that the Saudi nationals and the foreigners having visit visas and the residency permits (Iqama) may travel to the kingdom from tomorrow (Sept 15) if they tested negative for the virus 48 hours prior to their flights.

Six months ago, the travel restrictions were imposed in the wake of coronavirus pandemic.

According to the Saudi interior ministry, complete restrictions will be lifted after Jan 1 on the land, air and sea transport.
