Pakistan Railways website shows 6-month old message of trains’ closure

LAHORE: Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed, who is often seen busy in holding press conferences, has never bothered to visit and check the official web portal of the railways department as the web is seemed not updated since the start of lockdown in the wake of coronovirus pandemic.

The six-month message still posted on https://www.pakrail.gov.pk/ reads:” Pakistan Railways has decided to close the train service in the wake of coronavirus pandemic. The train service will be closed from midnight tonight (March 20, 2020) till March 31.

Meanwhile, Federal Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed addressing a press conference here today said that pre-lockdown train timings would be restored from Sept 14.

He said that the Pakistan Railways has decided to make Karachi division a mini-headquarters.

One the occasion, he strongly condemned the Lahore Motorway gang-rape incident.
