Pak Army called in Karachi to assist civil administration: ISPR

Islamabad: The government has taken emergency approval from the federal cabinet to send the Pak Army and the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to Karachi to handle the situation arisen after the recent rain.

The approval was sought from the Cabinet through Circulation to send NDMA and Army to Karachi. Army has been called in Karachi after the cabinet approval.

According to a statement issued by the Pakistan Army Public Relations (ISPR), the Pakistan Army have been called in to assist the civil administration in Karachi.

According to ISPR, the Army was called in to deal with the situation after the rains.

On the other hand, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail said that NDMA and FWO officials have come to Karachi on the directive of the prime minister. The prime minister has signed the summary as 100 per cent of the federal attention will now be focused on Karachi, he added.
