KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Ameer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has said that the people of Karachi have been left helpless in the dire situation created after the rains. Where is mayor, Sindh government and local government minister? The Rs1 billion received from the World Bank for cleaning drains should be accounted for, he added.

He expressed these views while talking to media persons during his visit to Hyderi Market and North Nazimabad after heavy rains.

He said that most of the PTI MPs are residents of Defense and Clifton. They do not know what the problems of the people are. PPP, MQM and PTI are in government but the problems of the people of Karachi are not solved. However, the ruling parties are busy blaming each other and the people of Karachi are constantly facing problems.

The Jamaat-e-Islami leader said that K-Electric has already inflicted the worst torment of loadshedding and over billing on the people. Even during the rains, most areas of the city are without power.

He said that Jamaat-e-Islami is with the people of Karachi as the volunteers of Jamaat-e-Islami and Al-Khidmat have carried out rescue operations to help the people in Orangi Town and Katti Pahari.
