Lahore: All the markets will be closed three days before Eidul Azha in different cities of Punjab to limit the spread of coronavirus.

Official sources said that it has been decided to launch smart lockdown in different cities of province.

They added that the smart lockdown is mandatory before the Eid to prevent coronavirus so it has been decided to close bazaars and malls two to three days before Eid.

Earlier on Eidul Fitr, the cases of virus had jumped manifold because the markets were allowed to open before the Eid.

The government is giving importance to the health of masses over the ​​markets.

However, during the smart lockdown, cattle markets, utility stores, milk shops and medical stores will remain open.

The sources said that it has been decided to tighten SOPs and security arrangements in the markets.

In this connection, a notification of smart lockdown has been prepared which can be issued at any time.
