KARACHI: Karachi Traffic Police has made a history by issuing a Rs500 challan to a cyclist.

A citizen named Iqbal Shahid, who sells toys on a bicycle, will have to pay a fine of Rs500 and a tax of Rs20.

The traffic police officer wrote “motorcycle” instead of “bicycle” in the challan while the police officer tried to force him to give the receipt of the challan which he refused to take.

The cyclist complained to the police officer that he did not even have flour in his house and where would he get Rs500 from?

On the other hand, Ghulam Ali Jamali, a traffic police officer who issued the challan, said that the cyclist was passing between the cars in a dangerous manner and was coming from the wrong side.

The police officer said that the cyclist had been fined Rs500 as a warning.
