Karachi : The monsoon’s first rain has claimed five lives in the city on Monday.
A woman was electrocuted in her home in Liaquatabad area.
In another incident, a minor boy was electrocuted at his home in Orangi Town neighbourhood while two people died after a roof of their house caved in due to heavy rain in Ibrahim Hyderi.
Separately, a three-year-old girl died when a wall collapsed on her in Malir’s Shamsi Society.
Earlier in the day, heavy rain accompanying gusty winds had lashed the city.
Meanwhile, the power supply company K-Electric has warned citizens to stay away from poles and snapped wires during the rain.
