China had sent martial artists at Ladakh border before clash with India: state media

BEIJING: Chinese media has reported that Beijing had reinforced its army at the Ladakh border with martial arts fighters and mountain climbers prior to deadly clash with Indian forces this month.

It added that on June 5 at Lhasa new militia divisions, which included fighters from a mixed martial arts club and ex-members of a Mount Everest Olympic torch relay team presented themselves for inspection.

The footage featuring hundreds of new soldiers lining up in the Tibet’s traditional capital was shown on the CCTV.

Earlier on June 15, at least 20 Indian soldiers were killed in a clash with Chinese troops in Ladakh.

No arms were used in the physical fight which also involved batons and stones, India media reported citing military sources.

Indian army statement claims that casualties were also occurred on the Chinese side.
