Karachi: Sindh Minister for Industries & Commerce and Cooperative Department & Anti-Corruption Jam Ikramullah Dharejo, taking note of the protest of Sindh industrialists against power load shedding, has said that Sindh government is standing shoulder to shoulder with them and demands from the federal government that all legitimate issues of the industrialists including load shedding of electricity and gas be resolved immediately so that the industrialists can focus on their industries and provide appropriate job opportunities to the people of the province.

In a statement, issued here on Friday, he said that the protest of industrialists against load shedding in industries is their democratic right and if there is no electricity, how will the industries run? The Prime Minister should immediately take notice of this serious situation.

Dharejo further said that it was a fact that power and gas load shedding in industries was severely affecting the production process while industries were already facing severe crisis due to Coronavirus. In such a difficult situation, if relief is not provided to the industrialists, the situation may become more serious.

He said that industries were suffering due to power outages which could lead to alarming rise in unemployment.

The minister said that the Sindh government was serious about resolving the legitimate issues of the industrialists but the problems of the industrialists could not be solved without the positive role of the federal government.
