Ex-opening batsman Taufeeq Umar recovers from coronavirus infection

Lahore: Taufeeq Umar, the Pakistan’s former opening batsman has fully recovered from the coronavirus infection.

The former opening batsman had contracted the virus last month.

Speaking to a local TV on Friday, he said that his test had come back negative after two weeks of isolation.

He said that the Allah had been very kind to him, adding that he is fully recovered now.

Umar asked his fans to follow safety precautions to prevent from the virus.

During his 14-year career, the opening batsman had played 22 ODIs and 44 Tests for Pakistan.

His career best was 234 runs against Sri Lanka in 2011 in Abu Dhabi.

Meanwhile, as of Friday (20:45) the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus has reached 90,602 while 1,878 died in Pakistan.
