LAHORE: Pakistan Ulema Council and Darul Ifta on Wednesday appealed to the government and masses to show seriousness in adopting precautionary measures against the coronavirus.

Pakistan Ulema Council Chairman Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi said that the virus was rapidly spreading in the country. Every person has to save himself and others.

He was of the view that it was tantamount to committing a suicide if one does not save himself from threats whereas not saving others is equal to a murder.

He urged both the government and the masses to quit their non-serious attitude.

Meanwhile, the number of coronavirus cases are on the rise in the country. As of today (Wednesday), 1,688 people have died from the virus in Pakistan.
